The introduction should briefly outline the research topic, providing background and context, then delve into relevant details and describe the study's objective or rationale. Write in present tense for published data and switch to past tense for your own experiments, ensuring all cited sources are appropriately referenced, with a focus on primary literature for specific details.
Before writing a cover letter for a scientific manuscript, check if it is required by the journal, and include a summary of your study's significance and its fit for the journal. During submission, provide all necessary information and files as specified, and be prepared to wait up to three months for a response.
The abstract is the most-read part of your manuscript and should be well-crafted, summarizing the study's introduction, methods, results, and discussion in 250-300 words. Keywords should be 5-8 precise terms reflecting your study, while the title needs to be concise and different from the keywords. Highlights, if required, should be 3-5 bullet points, each up to 85 characters, showcasing the novelty of your work.
